Tessa in Farm Country

Tessa Starts School!

Today is the first day of our new life.
Tessa, our youngest, is starting childcare and is SO excited to be heading off to “school” like her big sisters.
Yesterday, I took her on a long walk around Rollinsford, soaking in the morning when I would usually work from home or finish up house projects while she played.
As for Katy and me, it feels a bit like we’re starting school ourselves. For years, we’ve invested in the dream of working together. We took turns working at home while the other one made soap or candles, sometimes going in at night because batches of lotion had to be bottled before the next day.
Today we’ll be working in our mill studio together on a normal schedule. Katy’s making fall candles that have sold out, and I’m making more soap dollies to increase how much soap we can have drying.
For our local customers, we’re open 10-4 now on Tuesdays and Fridays. There’s something tremendously special about purchasing products where they’re made from the people who make them.
Thank you all for making this dream come true. There were lots of off ramps along the way, and we don’t take for granted that—because of you—Joy Lane Farm continues to grow.
