Our daughter in the rain

Springtime Rain

This morning, I woke up to the pitter and patter of raindrops on the window.

I was home for the day with Tessa, our two-year-old, who loves to go for walks by the river near our home.

The raindrops were plunking invitingly in our driveway puddles, and Tessa excitedly donned her pink raincoat with flowers and her favorite boots for our morning walk.

The stroll took us past our soap studio, which is in a mill overlooking Salmon Falls where her mama was hard at work shipping weekend orders.

As we sploshed our way through every puddle, we heard the roar of the waterfall far ahead echoing the joyful gurgles of a thousand tiny streams winding their way in that direction.

Not long ago, the river was quiet and still and completely iced over, but now it has turned to a thunderous celebration of spring.
