• Vitamin A

The vitamin A in goat milk increases your skin cell turnover rate, reducing lines and wrinkles. It's one of many nutrients in goat milk!

  • Lactic Acid

Lactic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid occuring naturally in goat milk that exfoliates your skin cells without drying them out.

  • Moisture Boosting Fat Molecules

In addition to all the fats from the plant oils, goat milk adds extra moisturizing fats to the formula to make superfatted bars

Our signature goat milk soap is specially formulated to moisturize dry, sensitive skin.

They’re “superfatted” bars, which means the fat molecules in the goat milk are extra. Olive oil and goat milk, filled with vitamin A, lactic acid, and other nutrients, are at the very top of the ingredients list. Our soaps are made using the “cold process” method, which blends lye with non-GMO plant oils and goat milk without the addition of irritating surfactants, foaming agents, parabens, or artificial colors.

The Applejack & Peel Goat Milk Soap is pleasantly scented with top notes of orange peel and cinnamon, apple middle notes, and a clove and vanilla finish with natural cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, orange, and cedarwood essential oils. Ground oatmeal is added for gentle exfoliation. Once the bars are cut, they’re cured for four weeks and then aged to make them extra long-lasting.

FAQ

Why is goat milk soap good for your skin?

For so many reasons! Three of the big ones are vitamin A, lactic acid, and moisture boosting fat molecules! Here's a video we did on why goat milk is exceptional skincare!

Will my goat milk soap melt?

Nope! Our bars are cold process soaps, which are made by adding lye to goat milk and botanical oils. You'd have melting issues with melt-and-pour soaps, but don't need to worry about it with cold process soaps.

How much goat milk is in your soaps?

A lot! We pride ourselves that goat milk is our second biggest ingredient! Our first ingredient is olive oil, which is costly, but SO good for your skin.

What is the shelf life of my goat milk soap?

Our goat milk soaps have no expiration, except the scent may fade over time. You can expect the scent to last for at least a year, even much longer. If you're planning on storing them for a while (they make wonderful sachets in drawers!), we suggest somewhere away from sunlight as direct sunlight can reduce the scent over a long period of time.

How long do your goat milk soaps last?

A long time! We age them extra long to make them last longer. At a minimum, cold process soaps need to be aged 4 weeks. Often, ours are aged as long as 8 weeks. This lets extra water weight evaporate off, making them harder, denser, and long-lasting. Exactly how long is difficult to answer, because it varies so much based on if you're showering with them or just using them as a facial or hand soap. To extend the life of your goat milk soap, be sure to keep it on a drying tray when not in use.

My Favorite Soap!

I love goat milk soap and the Joy Lane Farm Applejack & Peel is my absolute favorite! It is very gentle for my sensitive skin and also has a gentle, natural exfoliant that I love. This soap lathers nicely and rinses clean without leaving a residue . The scent is amazing!!!

I like to be apple soap it was very effective for exfoliating. I liked the loofah so better with my skin smoother. The other bars leave my skin not very smooth. I also have trouble with the size of the bars. I’d like a smaller one to fit in my hand. Your product is very very good. I just like I would like a a smoother feel. It doesn’t seem as creamy as liquid, so which is what I’m used to, do you make yourself in liquid form? Hope y’all had a nice Thanksgiving and enjoyed your family.

Hi Louise,

Thanks so much for your review! We're so glad you enjoyed the applejack and loofah soaps! We don't offer a liquid soap yet, but we have one in the works :-)

Happy holidays and thanks again!

The smell is amazing!

I am a new customer of Joy Lane Farm. I stumbled upon this site in search of a good goat milk soap for my very sensitive and acne-prone skin. I am a sucker for scents and could not decide so I've purchased this with a few others: Cranberry Bog, Honey Oatmeal, Lavender, Charcoal, and Masculine Musk for my man. When the box arrived, I could already smell the soap before opening it. Upon opening, the fragrance filled the room. It was amazing! I have these stored in the linen closet and every time I open it, I am welcomed by these scents. To get in the fall spirit I opened the Applejack and Peel first. Aside from the festive mood of the scent, the soap itself lathers very well. I used to wash with a washcloth, but have stopped and used the bar directly. The mild physical exfoliants in the soap does the job. As I said, I bought these primarily for my skin condition. It has now been about a month since I started using these soaps, so here are my observations. 1. My skin has taken to these and has not reacted to them like it would with other products. 2. My skin does not feel dry or tight after using them. 3. My back was rough and bumpy, and I would get the occasional acne breakout. This has calmed that down a great deal in just a month. My back is much smoother and I love touching it. My husband does not share my skin concerns, but he has taken to the scents and started using these for his beard. We both love how the fragrance lasts and actually get excited to get in the shower just to use them!! Thank you for these amazing soaps!!

Applejack and Peel Soap is Amazing!

For Autumn and Winter (and as we move into the Holidays), you can't beat the wonderful scent of Applejack and Peel. I've tried to find other soaps that approximate this particular version by Joy Lane and I just can't. My husband likes it too. It has a nice exfoliating qualitiy and does not irritate skin. The scent lingers lightly on skin but does not overpower. Very nice!

Thanks, Christine! Years ago, we used to scent it a little differently, and we were so happy when we developed the cidery notes it has now. Thrilled you're enjoying yours as fall begins this year! Thanks for writing a review!

Best,

Joel and Katy
