Ingredients:

Olive (Olea Europaea) Oil, Goat Milk, Coconut (Cocos Guineensis) Oil, Palm (Elaeis Guineensis) Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, Essential Oil, Fragrance Oil, Carbon, Oatmeal, Cranberry Seeds, Lavandula Angustifolia, Glycerin

What is goat milk soap?

Natural soap is made by combining lye (sodium hydroxide) with fats, which are plant oils, like olive oil and coconut oil. Usually, the lye is dissolved in water. In goat milk soap, you dissolve the lye in goat milk instead. This gives you a superfatted bar that’s exceptional for your skin. Our goat milk soaps are made with goat milk from a local 4-H farm. For years, we owned our own goats and brought them to local fairs as part of the 4-H program. Now, we partner with other 4-H farms who are proud to carry on this tradition and provide us with goat milk for our goat milk soaps.

Why is goat milk soap good for your skin? What’s in the goat milk?

There are tons of reasons to use goat milk in soap, but here are the top three benefits of goat milk soap:

  • Goat milk gives goat milk soaps moisture boosting fat molecules. Natural soap already has all the fats from plant oils, but the goat milk in goat milk soap adds extra fats that give you a superfatted bar that’s super moisturizing for your skin.
  • Goat milk gives goat milk soaps lactic acid. Lactic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid that occurs naturally in goat milk that exfoliates your skin cells without drying them out.
  • Goat milk gives goat milk soap vitamin A. The vitamin A in goat milk increases your skin cell turnover rate, reducing lines and wrinkles when you use goat milk soap.

Our goat milk soaps are made with 100% goat milk; no water is used. That’s why goat milk is listed as the second ingredient on our ingredients list, right after olive oil.

These "rough" cuts are such a great buy. Slight imperfections or different sIzed soaps at a fraction of the price!

Rough Cuts are Smooth!

I love the rough cuts of the unscented goat milk soap. To begin with. It’s a perfect soap, and now I can buy it is slightly better price because it’s considered a rough cut. Great deal. Great soap. Not rough.

Thanks, Rose! We're SO glad you're enjoying the unscented goat milk soaps!!

Love these soap bars

I have tried seven or eight different goat milk soap brands last year, and decided that three brands were worth repurchasing. Joy Lane was one of the them and I placed another order during the Black Friday sale. I love the way they smell--subtle and natural. Even the ones that don't belong to the "essence oil only" group smell nice and not too artificial. They lather well, clean well and at the same time are very gentle on the skin--something that regular soaps cannot achieve. One thing that makes this brand really stand out from all the other goat milk soaps I have tried is that--these bars leave little residue. I use goat milk soap bars to clean my makeup brushes, one other brand (Goat Milk Stuff) left lots of white residue on the part of the handle that was close to the hair no matter how many times I rinsed the brush. Joy Lane soap bars leave nothing. My brushes stay soft and clean. I guess the different performance applies to the skin too as the other brand did make my skin dry and itchy.

Please keep these great products available. I'll keep repurchasing!

Thanks so much, Nan! It brought us so much joy reading this! :)

Constructive comment

I love the concept of this but was a bit disappointed to not know what was in the bag, so that I could possibly buy something I liked again in the future. By smell itself and even color/shape, the bars were unidentifiable, so jotting a list on the bag would be a great add!

Hi Kay,

Thanks so much for the feedback! In the past, we haven't listed scents to keep the time/price low as we fill these, but that's definitely worth thinking about and would let customers buy scents they like again! Hope you have a great weekend!
